Thanks to “Minha Casa Minha vida” plan Brazilian government will spend 34 billion of Reales in direct and indirect subsidies for houses acquisition. All Brazilian within the range from 1 to 10 minimum salaries may enjoy this financial assistance.

Therefore, the plan includes:

  3. Reduction or exemption of assurance cost.
  4. Loans with reduced rate for natural persons.
  5. Speeding up of administrative steps.
  6. Taxes reduction for construction materials.

Being the minimum wage in Brazil of 250 $, and having Natal 774.280, we found the following distribution of inhabitants per salary below 10 minimum wages:

  1. Less than one minimum wage: 99.612
  2. Between 1 to 2 minimum wages: 92.753

  5. Between 5 to 10 minimum wages: 38.266

Thus, up to 305.601 natural persons may be recipient for the government subsidy. (IBGE 2001)

On the other hand, Natal has a housing deficit of 14%, lacking of about 24.848 new houses to lodge all its inhabitants (Joao Pinheiro foundation 2005)

In 2011 Brazil GNP is growing with one of the highest rates in the world, and Natal will enjoy this growth, together with all the development and investments plans put forward by the new Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff.

Within this economical frame, new property developments are a secure investment with fine returns.
